DOWNLOADING DATA FROM THE INTERNET


We now maintain updates for all three of our databases on the Internet
World Wide Web. 

Procedure to download updates from our Internet Site:

1. Before accessing the Internet, determine what days of data you
   need.  You can do this by running GOWEB as follows:

   (click START..PROGRAMS..PINNACLE..GOWEB)
	
   The first page that appears will show last date of your data.

2. Use a web browser such as Netscape to access our web page at:

                     www.pinnacledata.com

3. Fill in your USER ID and USER PW on the right hand side and click
   SUBMIT.  If you do not know your ID/PW, you can find in the file 
   PINNUP.INI that is in \PINNACLE folder, Just double click on this
   file and it will open in Notepad.

4. Select your database areas and download the days of data you need.
   These are the areas available at our Internet site:

   CLC AREA -
      DUYYMMDD.CLC    daily update file for CLC Database
      EXYYMMDD.CLC    daily update file for LIGHT/DEEP individual contracts
      MUYYMM00.CLC    contains CLC daily updates for an entire month
      EXYYMM00.CLC    contains LIGHT/DEEP updates for an entire month

   IDX AREA -
      DUYYMMDD.IDX    daily update file for IDX Database
      MUYYMM00.IDX    contains IDX daily updates for an entire month

   COT AREA -   (note: there will be one each of these files per week)
      DUYYMMDD.COT    daily update file for COT Database 
      SMYYMMDD.COT    COT report, futures only, short form in ASCII     
      SXYYMMDD.COT    COT report, futures only, long form in ASCII
      CMYYMMDD.COT    COT report, futures & options, short form, ASCII
      CXYYMMDD.COT    COT report, futures & options, long form, ASCII
      MUYYMM00.COT    contains COT daily updates for an entire month

5. RIGHT CLICK on the update files you need, you should get some sort of
   "SAVE TO DISK" Window which will let you specify where the update files
   will be downloaded into.  The update files must be downloaded into:

                \PINNACLE\UPDATES  folder.

5. To process these update files you downloaded, run PINN (.BAT)
   This is a small batch file in the \PINNACLE folder, just double
   click on it and it will process the update files for you.

6. After they have been processed, update files will be renamed from
   DU..... to D_...... (EX..... to E_......, MU..... to M_......).
   Old update files are automatically deleted after 10 days.
